Before, I used to approach seduction as a purely natural thing — chemistry that happens between people.

When I first read about all the methodical manipulation pickup artists can do, I started to view picking up girls using any kind of method to be manipulative. I just wasn’t congruent with any of it. I wasn’t being genuine, I was playing these girls. Moreover, I was always afraid to do the “mainstream” lines because I figured they had been done so much already. So I developed all my own stuff.

So for me, the “gotcha” mindset is rather the other way. From all the indirect game, thinking that seduction is when you’re putting one over on the girl, making her “give it up” through tricks and feigning disinterest. And yes, it can be that way, but I choose not to engage in that kind of seduction. I strive for something real to happen between the man and the woman. But there’s a gray line when you’re meeting a stranger, and as a man need to move things along, and I’m still often wondering about where it is.
