I think Nick makes a great point about qualifying after the opener,
but I have a question.

Nick's point was this: Say the girl gives a guy an indifferent response after the opener, and the guy keeps his body language towards her and continues giving her solid eye contact. It's as if he's saying, "It's okay, you can be totally boring, and you're still just fine with me," because he's so intent on succeeding with her.	The girl sees that and his value goes down in her eyes. Great point.

But say the guy gets that same response, and starts to turn his body away, and fails to make good eye contact. Trouble is, that's just what unconfident guys do! It seems like the girl would see that, and think that because the guy is not confidently committed to the interaction, his value *again* goes down in her eyes.

So it almost seems like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm not quite sure how Nick is suggesting guys handle this balancing act of looking "confidently unphased" and yet turning away from her and giving her less eye contact.

Thanks.
