Underscoring everything we do at The Social Man is a profound love of, and appreciation for women. Our mission is to help men discover the social skills and the self-awareness to create amazing female friendships, to feel like they have choice in the women they date, and to eventually find happy, fulfilling relationships.

Unfortunately, we live in a society where relationships aren’t always happy and fulfilling. And when unhappy and unfulfilled turns abusive or violent, the gravity of the problem demands attention.  We do what we can in our training and curriculum to support healthy attitudes towards women, but there are plenty of organizations who are involved with this issue in a much more significant way.

Of particular concern to us are issues of domestic abuse.  Whether they are economically bound, emotionally addicted, physically threatened, or otherwise, individuals who are victims of domestic abuse and violence require our attention.

To that end, The Social Man donates a percentage of its revenues – approximately 2% – to Safe Horizon, a New York-based nonprofit which operates shelters for victims of abuse, and provides support, prevents violence, and promotes justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.

We encourage you to become educated and involved in this cause.  Part of being a Social Man is developing a great empathy with and appreciation for people – all people – including those who we probably aren’t meeting out at the club.  Volunteering for phone support or live work at a shelter will not only give you a greater insight into the human condition, an interesting experience to share and discuss, and good karma, but you will genuinely be giving love and making the world a better place.
